Pheasant
Driven pheasant shooting is by far the most popular form of shooting in this country and therefore the most accessible.   Shoots exist in every county providing a huge selection to choose from.  Most of the popular commercial shoots are situated in the West Country, particularly Somerset and Devon, or in the north of England.   However there are many high quality estates situated throughout the country that provide an excellent day for the visitor.
All estates use their ground and the experience of their keepers to the best effect to produce superb days out.   Shoot lunches are provided by the estates and are intrical part of the social day out.  They are a chance to refuel and warm up before continuing the day.   Weather can play an important part to the enjoyment of the day.  As the pheasant season takes place during the winter months, you could come across anything from warm sunny days to rain, but later on in the season it will become colder, so dress is very important.
The season starts 1st October and finishes 1st February.
