Lioncrest has evolved over the ten years the company has been in business to specialise in organising all forms of hunts for the visiting gun. Lioncrest believes it is the only formal outfitter to provide a full service to the shooting visitor.
Lioncrest has developed good relationships with grouse moor owners and partridge and pheasant shoots, mostly in the north of England. We would be happy to discuss your wishes and expectations when planning your next hunt.
Lioncrest holds a Certificate of Registration as a Firearms Dealer granted by the Police which allows us to collect, transport and store shotguns on your behalf.
To complement the shoot organisation, Lioncrest can arrange all of the following:
- All Visitor Shotgun Permits applied for from the Police on your behalf.
- Cartridges of all calibres provided direct from the suppliers.
- All hotel accommodation arranged on your behalf.
- Driver/loaders with 4 x 4s to transport you on the shoots.
- Collection of guns stored in the UK.
- Loan of guns if you do not wish to travel with your own guns.
- All weather cancellation insurance arranged as required (strongly recommended when driven grouse shooting).
- Third party insurance through the BASC. It is strongly advised this is taken not only for the insurance but also to support a worthwhile organisation.
- Tips - experience has taught us that we carry the cash required for tips to the keeper and loader. This saves any potential embarrassment on the day.
- Although the loaders clean the guns at the end of each day, Lioncrest insists the guns have a second clean and check through on return to the hotel by ourselves.
- For grouse shooting in particular, argocats can be organised for those that find the local terrain hard going.
- If you prefer to take a train to your shoot destination, we will transport all guns and heavy luggage by road direct to your hotel. We will then meet you at your rail station and transfer you to your hotel.

- We provide all gun slips and gun cleaning kit which will lighten your packing.
- Instruction in the field is provided by Robert Peel who worked as an instructor for eleven years at the Holland and Holland Shooting School under the management of the chief instructor, Ken Davies.
Additional Services include:
- Lioncrest has a retired Holland and Holland gunmaker who is able to service and repair all makes of shotguns.
- Lioncrest has Police approved and alarmed premises for the storage of shotguns and shoot related gear that is not required until your return. These premises are fully insured.
- Lioncrest has excellent relationships with the well known gun shops in London. This can be useful discussing work to guns, arranging shooting lessons or collecting your stored guns prior to your arrival.
- Lioncrest has a very good friendship with a taxidermist based at Braemar, Scotland. He can create a wonderful and permanent reminder of a special shot you had. The bird can be sent direct to him and on completion, to your home address.
- Lioncrest has links to some of the most interesting shoots in Spain. Partridge shooting can either be the traditional Spanish method of using the contours or based on the British method of using height to present the birds. All estates have fabulous accommodation and superb dining with wonderful service.
